I created this design for the Drakes Creek Middle School Yearbook cover. We had a school wide contest for yearbook cover submissions and mine was chosen as the winner!
Since yellow and green are our school colors, I chose to create a traditionally colored gator.
For this graphic design, I used the program Clip Studio Paint Pro.
My favorite part of this art piece is how the gator is posed . . . he looks like he is coming right off the page!
The process I used to create this design was draw with the pen, paint with watercolors and then blur and blend the image.
This was a fun image to create and I am excited to see it printed on our school yearbooks!

I decided to complete the Graphic Design Product. First, I had to ask what a graphic design product even looked like. My STLP coach showed me what it was, and she even told me about a website called Canva.com. When I finally got on the website, it said you can either login with an email, google account, or Facebook password, so I chose to login with my google account since it was the easiest to login in with for me.
I logged in and many templates on a sidebar popped up. I soon clicked on the many templates that popped up, and I just chose the poster template. I had to do a poster template because I was looking for something that you could put an event or advertisement on. I wanted something you can put an event on because there is a dance going on at my school in January. They call it the Winter Wonderland Dance. So, then I decided I might as well make it look like a winter themed poster.
I added a blue background, and some white circles to make it look like snow. I put a text box at the top where I typed in Winter Wonderland Dance. I then added some red swirly lines around the text box just to make it stand out. I also, added other boxes at the bottom for the information everybody needs to know about the dance like the date, attire, admission, and cost for food. I realized that I hadn’t made it wintery enough, so I wanted to add a snowman. When I typed in snowman in the search link bar for the pictures, I would have to pay a dollar, so I decided to create my own snowman.
I went onto the shapes box where they had many shapes, and added three white circles. I added not a regular triangle, but a triangle that looked like a snowman would wear. I then added buttons, a mouth, and some eyes made all out of small circles. I wanted to add also snowflakes because I thought it would add more to my wintery theme. I also added a frame, and then I was done.
When I reviewed my piece, I didn’t think there was anything more I could really do to it. In my opinion it was perfect. It went with the theme that I wanted, and even though I didn't get all the pictures I really wanted, I knew that it would still be good.
