Our ePublishing project is called Busy Books. Busy Books is a website where students and teachers can check and submit books reviews.
We have worked mostly on young adult books because that is what our friends are most interested in. We created a submission pages where visitors to our website can submit book reviews for us to publish. We have created an all about the authors page. We have tried our best to make these pages as user friendly as possible.
To promote our book reviews, we set up Instagram and Twitter accounts, and we were able to embed our Twitter feed onto the website. We used a variety of sources of media to reach students from different platforms, depending on which one they have access to or prefer to use the most.
All of the information for the about our authors section was found on the author’s websites. This will be convenient for our visitor to get additional insight about our authors. For each author we spotlighted, we We also added a link to their website at the bottom of our description as our citation.
We asked the reading classes at our school to submit book reviews for our website to make our website more personal and relatable, especially the young adults page.
Our website is versatile because it appeals to all people of all ages. Being avid readers we give reviews on many books our audience may not have read yet, making our website very useful for anyone in need of a book.
We made sure all images we used were copyright-free, and we made sure to avoid pictures that might cause issues. We set up our submissions page as a submissions only link as we do not want to to chat online with people we did not know.

Flipped Library

Flipped Library is a website we created for tutorials, flyers, and information about the Drakes Creek Middle School library. In our videos, we show quick and simple ways to use the library. When the project started, we met with our librarian to see which videos she needed most. Our very first video was What is a Flipped Library.
Our videos range from simple things, like finding a book in the library to more complicated things like using Destiny, our online catalog.
We really enjoyed the process of creating an idea for a video, working out all the kinks in the way and then watching our creation. We love that we can make short simple videos that could help so many people learning about the library or who need a refresher.
We look forward to adding videos & flyers to our website throughout the year.
